Dr. Oppenhuizen is a Diplomate of The American Board of Orthodontics. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Diplomate status is achieved by rigorous testing and it is the standard of achievement in the specialty afforded to less than a third of all orthodontists. To be invited into the other honor societies is a distinction awarded to less than 3% of all dentists in the United 
States.

Dr. Oppenhuizen treats children at their optimal starting point from the perspective of each individual’s specific needs. Timing is everything. No patient wants to stay in braces one day longer than necessary. Timing is a big part of making that happen.

Using the new Damon and Innovation treatment systems, the number of office visits, discomfort, and overall treatment time can be reduced significantly using gentle active forces. Our individualized approach offers patients the treatment technique as well as the hardware that will optimize their treatment experience and outcome.
Non-Extraction Technique:
Dr. Oppenhuizen is known for preserving and enhancing the integrity of each smile. He has had great success (see Results) in producing full smiles and profiles through non-extraction. The time to take out teeth is when it enhances facial form and aesthetics now and in the future
Experienced in difficult adult treatment:
Dr. Oppenhuizen has the experience in handling difficult, complex, bite and aesthetic problems which may require an interdisciplinary team to fully resolve. We have the experience to work along with your dentist and other specialists to establish the foundation to achieve the finest result.
On-site orthodontic laboratory:
We daily expedite the delivery of retainers and other appliances which saves time and inconvenience. If an orthodontic device is lost or broken a new one can be made quickly and easily.
Insurance processing and participating provider:
Dr. Oppenhuizen’s office accepts assignment of benefits from most major insurance carriers. Patients are not required to continually fill out reimbursement forms. Our service to you takes the hassle and harassment of insurance billing from you.
